Dungarvin Growing with Acquisition of Aspen Community Living
We are excited to announce that Dungarvin is growing again!
Effective December 4, 2017 Dungarvin acquired Aspen Community Living, a highly respected provider in Ohio and Kentucky. Aspen was founded in 2001 to support adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
In Ohio, the newly acquired services provide residential and day program supports to approximately 140 individuals, significantly growing Dungarvin Ohio’s reach across the state, with new offices in Cleveland, Akron, Dayton and Cincinnati. Aspen also maintains a large office and day service site in Columbus. In time, the current Dungarvin Ohio office in Columbus and Aspen’s location will eventually merge together.
Additionally, with this acquisition, Dungarvin is growing into Kentucky, which becomes the fifteenth state where we offer services and supports. With a main office in Florence and smaller offices in Louisville, Somerset, and Pikeville, we will conduct business in a broad geographic segment of the state. Dungarvin has assumed services for approximately 150 individuals across Kentucky, offering both residential and day program supports.
We offered positions to approximately 120 Aspen employees in Kentucky and 160 employees in Ohio. We are pleased that most have joined the Dungarvin team, including the majority of persons in leadership/management positions. With the retention of such a large number of Aspen employees, we anticipate that the transition should be a seamless one for the persons receiving supports. We would like to express appreciation and commendable effort put forth by transition team comprised of many state, regional and national Dungarvin staff. We are excited to welcome the new staff and supported individuals joining us from Aspen, and we are eager to embrace them within our mission of respecting and responding to the choices of people in need of supports!
Welcome all!
