Connecticut

Dungarvin Connecticut supports the philosophy and practice of supported living, community inclusion and self-determination.

Dungarvin Connecticut, LLC has been a provider since 2009 and offers individualized day and residential services to individuals throughout the state. We work cooperatively with each individual, his or her family, natural and community supports, and county/state entities to ensure quality services. Our mission is “respecting and responding to the choices of people with developmental disabilities” and we are committed to this. Because each individual we support is unique, we provide services that are tailored to each person’s own hopes, dreams, goals and needs.

Sengistix

Dungarvin Connecticut uses Sengistix in some of our locations. Sengistix utilizes a wide variety of coordinated sensors to provide a “complete package” of custom monitoring tailored to meet unique individual needs. This automated sensing provides caregivers the ability to improve safety, enhance the quality of life, and increase options for greater independence for all individuals requiring support. The person receiving supports has greater independence because paid staff is only called to the home when needed. For more information Sengistix, please visit our Partners.

Residential Services

Residential services are provided to an individual living in his or her own home or apartment with or without roommates, depending on the location. These sites serve individuals of various need levels, including individuals with significant medical, physical, or behavioral challenges. Staffing levels vary by the needs of the people being served. The focus of these services is to enhance independence and quality of life. Dungarvin's residential services are very flexible and easily modified to meet changing abilities, interests, choices, and needs of individuals.

We provide residential support services to adults individually and in small groups, living in typical homes throughout the community.

Community Companion Homes

The CCH model offers a family setting to people with intellectual disabilities. In this setting a community member becomes a licensed care provider who opens their home to an individual with a disability. Community Companion Home Licensees are licensed by the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) and accept the responsibility for caring for one or two adults with a disability in the licensee’s own home.

The Licensee plays an active role in the individual’s team and the collaborative development of a support plan. They also help the individual integrate with their family and the community, teach the individual to use community resources and services, ensure the person’s health and medical needs are met, and comply with licensing regulations of the Connecticut Department of Developmental Services.

We take great care in selecting the right match, considering shared interests and backgrounds to ensure a harmonious bond between the Licensee and the individual. The process involves an initial application with health checks, references, background checks of all household occupants over 16 years of age, and a Home Study interview. Additionally, the applicant’s home undergoes a fire safety check. Once this initial application process is completed, the licensing division of DDS Central Office will then survey the home.

As a Licensee, you receive a monthly payment for each individual living in your home, providing a flat rate for room & board and a reimbursement for care based on their unique needs.  For many, the most important reward is not financial. It is the satisfaction that comes from becoming part of a dedicated group of service providers who make life better and more fulfilling by opening their hearts and their homes.

Dungarvin provides all your state mandated trainings free of charge. We provide re-training as needed. You will have the support of our Quality Assurance Team, a regional Nurse, and Program Directors, to name a few. We want you to succeed and will do everything our power to help you.
