1. Why do you have a passion for this work – how so – please briefly explain.
I believe wholeheartedly that people should be themselves. Often times society tries to put people into buckets and not give them a fair chance at success. While I don’t work directly with the individuals we support, I feel like what I do “behind the scenes” helps provide then with solutions for success. I love seeing them smile and enjoying life to the fullest.
2. What is your most treasured possession?
I’m not a possession person, things don’t mean anything to me…its more about the relationships I have and the friendships I’ve made over time that mean more to me. Things come and go and tend to pick up dust, worthwhile relationships, and friendships last forever.
3. Who are your heroes in life and why?
Easy…my parents. My parents have taught me so many valuable life skills that I will be eternally grateful to them. My mom taught me how to be a project manager by running “her” home and family, she taught me how to be gracious, loving and understanding. My dad, and yes, I’m a daddy’s girl, has taught me to never give up, keep fighting and always look forward. They both taught me how to work hard and smile in the face of adversity day in and day out regardless of the situation. I have them both to thank for everything I have in life.
4. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
At this point in my life, graduating college. School and studying never came easy for me, not to mention I paid for it myself while working full-time. Getting that diploma taught me a lot about myself and what kind of person I wanted to be in life.
5. What do you most value about the Dungarvin team with whom you work?
I have had the pleasure of working with 2 different teams since joining Dungarvin. I most value the personal friendships I made with the North Carolina-ACI team, and what they taught me about the IDD field. The Project Management Office team that I work with now is incredible. The entire group is so selfless and would do anything and everything it takes to make the organization successful. I value each and every one of their opinions, ideas and tips/tricks or “nuggets” of information they share with the group and how willing they are to collaborate and work together as a team, they truly define the definition of “Team,” and I am honored to be a part of this group.
